Biography:

Simone Sabbioni, born in Rimini on the 3rd of October 1996, is an Italian swimmer and national record holder of the 100 meters backstroke. After attending the 2016 Rio competitions, this Romagna champion is happy to be interviewed by our company so that we can get to know him better. Hi Simone, welcome to this meeting organized together with KeForma’s friends.

Tell us about your career, when did you start, what is your relationship with the pool, and what have been your best accomplishments up to now?

Hello everyone, my name is Simone Sabbioni and I am a swimmer. I have been swimming since I was 5 years old when my parents would leave me playing in the pool hoping I would use up some of my energy. Around 10 years old I started swimming on a competitive level and at 14 years old I started winning when participating in the youth leagues on all 3 distances: 50, 100, and 200. Later I participated in the national youth leagues together with many World and European youth leagues. The best result achieved during my juvenile career is when I won the Chinese Youth Olympics. In 2015 I won the Italian record at Riccione which enabled me to participate for the first time at the National Championships held at Kazan during the same year. In 2016 I won the Italian Championships and also qualified for Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

Is there a competition you remember fondly?

One of the competitions I remember fondly is the 2015 Israel European Championship Short Course Worlds when I won the 50-meter silver medal and 200-meter bronze medal together with two relay race gold medals.

And one that you would like to forget about?

One that I would like to forget about is pretty recent, during the London European Championship. Unfortunately, the training didn’t go as me and my coach expected. During the 100-meter competition, the one I usually excel in, I got the results I was expecting but in the end, I only won the bronze medal even if I the gold was within my reach. This is a really special year. How are preparations going for the next international events? What are your expectations for Rio? Every 4 years the Olympic year is the most important. We are preparing and training hard for this event. As Rio approaches I will also participate in the Sette Colli international trophy and spend 3 weeks altitude training in the Sierra Nevada to get as fit as possible.

How is your day organized?

My day is pretty busy. I wake up at 7.30 am and start swimming at 8.30 for two hours. I later go back home, to my granny’s jewelry store or to my mother’s. At around 1 pm I go with all the family to eat lunch at one of Rimini’s restaurants. At 3.30 pm for three days a week, I train at the gym and then from 5 pm, I go back to the pool. The other 3 days I just swim for 2 hours in the afternoon. The rest of the time I spend at home, eating, watching a film, reading a book, or sleeping.

When not swimming, who is Simone?

When not swimming Simone is a pleasant guy who loves music and once in a while takes time to strum through the strings of a guitar. I love eating out with friends and once in a blue moon, I go clubbing with them.

Swimming and food supplements. What are the main aspects to be considered on these topics?

We all know well that supplements are very important for those who practice sports and for life in general. They are acquired during meals and also by taking extra supplements and that is why I confide in KeForma which I consider a very good brand. During intense training, it’s important to combine the right supplements into our diet if not we may risk low performance during training or during the competition itself.

Danilo Goffi

Danilo Goffi

Among KeForma’s athletes is the marathon runner Danilo Goffi who has participated in many European, World, and Olympic competitions reaching important results. We asked Danilo if he could tell us a bit more about his sports career.

When did you start? What is your relationship with running and what have been the best results achieved so far?

I started running in 1987, being slender in appearance, no football team would consider my enrollment so that is when many of my friends advised me to start athletics and I decided to join them. My passion for running become stronger and stronger thanks to the good results I was able to reach starting from Junior categories.

Here are my best performances:

Junior European 10000 m. Champion; Runner-up during the European Budapest marathon; Gold World trophy at the Seville team marathon; Two-time winner of the European trophy team marathon; Winner of the Venice and Turin marathons; Four-time Italian Champion; Two-time winner at the master category (over 40) New York marathon and winner at the master category (over 40) Boston marathon; 9th place at the Atlanta Olympics; 4th place at the World Marathon Championships of Athens; 5th place at the World Marathon Championships of Seville.

Are there specific races you remember with fondness?

Yes, the marathon during the 1998 Budapest European Championships when I won the gold medal.

And is there a specific one that you would like to forget about?

There are many that I would like to forget, but I try not to because defeats have their degree of importance in helping us grow and become stronger during difficult moments.

What are your future goals?

After retiring from my career as a professional athlete I became a coach and at present, I am working on enlarging my athletics corporation.

How is your day organized?

During the mornings I work in the office, in the afternoons I compile training schedules for those who I follow, I take care of the technical aspects of my athletics corporation (almost there), I train on the pitch and if there is any time left I go running.

Running and supplements. What are the main aspects to be considered here?

I think supplements are very important for those who practice sports. It’s important to identify products that allow athletes to fully recover their muscular strength, to reach a balanced hydration, and products that sustain their energy levels.

Nicola Casadei

Biography:

We have interviewed Nicola Casadei an enduro mountain bike athlete sponsored by KeForma. He is one of the strongest Italian riders in this sport and during the 2017 season, we saw him on the Enduro World Series circuit together with his new Team CMC Cycling Experience Team members.

After starting your mountain bike experience what are the most important goals you have achieved?

I started when I was 12 years old riding a downhill bike and obtained some important results like 12th place during the junior World Championships at Rotorua NZ, I won two Italian Championships and after a 5-year break, I started enduro mountain bike achieving good results right from the start. In 2015 I won the Italian Enduro Cup and became part of the top 30 Enduro World Series rankings.

Is there a competition you remember with fondness?

I remember dearly the 2015 La Thuile race… I was running fast all weekend and during the whole competition I was number one, then in the last part of the race I had to battle Francois Bailly-Maitre. In the end, I crossed the finish line in second place but I am still proud of my race. I pushed myself to the limits all the time!

And one you would like to completely forget about?

In the 2016 Canazei race…. unfortunately, I broke my meniscus and knee ligaments ruining the season.

How do you schedule your day?

I usually train in the mornings and other days during the afternoon. Five days a week I ride the bike and two days a week I go to the gym. I also schedule a well-deserved resting day during the week.

When not riding the bike, who is Nicola?

I try to be friendly with everyone, I like joking and getting to know new friends.

Cycling and supplements. What are the main aspects to be considered here?

It’s very important to include supplements both before and after exercising, especially when you train every day.

Biography:

Gianluca Pozzati is a promising young Italian triathlon athlete in partnership with KeForma.

Tell us about your career, when did you begin, and what is your relationship with triathlon competitions as well as your best achievements?

My triathlon career started many years ago when I decided to participate for fun at some of the children’s competitions often combined with adult competitions in which my father used to take part. During the years I practiced many different types of sports but the more triathlon competitions I attended the more I enjoyed myself and that is why during the years my efforts and dedication increased towards this sport which has now become my career. This year I have reached the third step of the podium during the Olympic distance Italian championships and I have also seized the first step during the ITU competitions.

Is there a specific race you remember with fondness?

One of the races I remember with fondness is the 2017 Italian Championship 2+2 relay race won together with the 707 team. Cutting the finishing line in first place was a great experience for me and the team; this race format transforms triathlon into a team competition and it has been an amazing feeling to share the joy of winning this Italian award together with my team.

Is there a race you would like to completely forget about?

I wouldn’t know, maybe I have already forgotten about it.

What does your daily routine entail?

I don’t have a precise daily routine, I often swim during early mornings and then schedule my other two types of training during the rest of the day.

Who is Gianluca outside of the world of sports and competitions?

Outside of the world of sports and competitions, Gianluca is a very busy guy who recently graduated in civil engineering. Even if his sports career keeps him busy he would like to keep up with his studies.

Triathlon and supplements. What are the main aspects to be considered here?

Triathlon is a demanding physical sport and that is why it requires special care when it comes to supplements. During intense training, it’s very important to use quality products on which you can count, like those made by KeForma.

When KeForma collaborated with FITRI (Italian Triathlon Federation) I was able to try some of their products and was very happy with the results.
